Lieutenant Colonel Dr. James Johnson Fraser was born July 24th, 1879 to John Fraser and Jane McGill, who are both buried in Churchville Cemetery. He went to school to become a physician and had a practice in Walkerton, Ontario, where he was referred to as Dr. Jim Fraser. In September 1914, very early on in the war, he signed up to leave his practice, friends and family behind so that he could work with the Field Ambulances overseas. He listed his brother, William J. Fraser of Huttonville as his next of kin. Dr. Fraser returned safely home from the war, and died March 30th, 1939. He received a Distinguished Service Order.
