Index of 19th & Early 20th Century Burials

For those who may interested in researching local history, this is a list of individuals buried in the Churchville Cemetery, organized by date of death. Information was drawn from cemetery records, obituaries, web searches and the Ontario Geneological Society's excellent index. 

Our first burial was in September 1831, but the Cemetery Board was not established to manage plot sales, surveying and upkeep until 1842. There are no records predating the establishment of the Board, beyond a passing mention of the burial grounds in Rhoda Church-Stoyell's April 1835 will. If a survey was created for the original section of the grounds, it disapeared in the mid-19th century. Our existant records indicate that the Cemetery Board only met a handful of times between 1842 and the 1891, when Daniel Neelands and Levi Hall took charge and established the Board as we know it today.
